Any suggestions to make me finish my landscape paintings at home?
I paint Plein Air landscapes with joy but I rarely have time to finish them. Back in my studio I find it difficult to finish them. The inspiration just isn't there anymore. Have you experienced this problem? How did you solve it?
I find that I lose interest in plein air work too. So I re gesso and start over with something that does interest me. Or I take pictures of the scene I was painting and paint from that. If you are not selling or showing your work then you have no incentive to finish.
I know that sometimes when doing plein air I find that I have finished the painting in my mind so I don't really need to finish it in paint unless I have a market for it.
