There is a great deal of filming of motion pictures, commericals and just about anything else going on in Chicago. In addition, independent films are no longer the stepchild of this industry, but main players. The Sundance Film Festival holds all of the clout that MGM once held when it comes to the marketing success of motion pictures. The major studios, consumed with making big budget pictures and looking for box office draw, are less likley to take a chance on new ideas or plots for their films. For this reason, most of the awards for pictures go to independent films or foreign films, both of which tend to offer something new, rather than a remake of something old.

Living in studio alone or sharing a 2 bedroom unit with a roommate (in London)?
I will be living in London. I did the math and both options cost me the same. Yes, there are pros and cons to each, ie. having privacy when you live alone, not being lonely when you live with a roommate etc etc
Aside from that, just in terms of living space....which would be better?
I am currently living in a studio and the privacy is great, but sometimes I wish I lived in a bigger place, even if I had to share it with someone else. Studios can be so small sometimes, and it feels kinda claustrophobic. Does this make sense? Thanks for your answers.
I moved to London nearly three years ago. I moved from rural Yorkshire on my own when I was eighteen.
The first year I shared with strangers (because I didn't know anyone). Living with strangers can either mean making friend or living in hell. I didn't get on with the people I lived with and would advise anyone who is moving in to shared accomodation to know who they are living with prior to moving in.
Then I lived in a shared property with friends and although we lived in a very big house privacy and noise were both an issue. Although I had my own room there was always someone in the lounge, dining room and kitchen. I couldn't cook or clean or use noisy appliances (such as hairdryers or blenders) when I wanted.
The thing with living with someone is whether you're both compatable. Do you work or study the same hours? If not then there might be problems. Do you sharehobbies and interests. If not you may struggle to appreciat each other's need for space and for room in which to persue those hobbies. Are you both as cleanly as each other? How will you allocate cleaning duties? Will the bills be paid jointly? If so, who'll use more electric etc? because you'll have to pay for that.
While sharing means not being as cramped, sharing can sometimes mean feling cramped and suffocated. When you live alone you decide who comes in and when they leave.
I live alone now. I dont find it lonely because I have friends and my partner rund often. Because it can be expensive living alone (food wise etc) my friends and partner often bring food or contribute towards my bills while they are staying with me. My apartment isn't small either. I have a private bathroom with a bath and everything. I have a private kitchen with facilities. I have a main room with a large bed, lounge area, sofa, coffee tables, work space etc.
It is all about finding out what is best for you.
Weigh up the pros and cons and make an informed decision. If you sign a contract or a lease you're obliged, legally, to pay the rent for the duration of that contract/ lease. Dont jump in to anything without thinking it out.
While you said the moeny works out the same sharing or living alone, food costs more when you live alone. There is no one to share food (if you're broke) when you're alone and if you go on holiday you have to leave your property empty. At the same time no one will eat your food, dirty your place up, go in your bedroom etc.
You can still be lonely when you share accomodation. It all depends on who you share with.
Living space wise, I love living alone. Although I have less room I do not have to mow a lawn (I hav no garden). I do not have to clean up after other people. I do not find my food has been eaten. I do not have my space invaded.
