Born at September 27, 1982 as Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., better-known by his stage name Lil Wayne, developed into an American million-selling rapper with a massive body of work.
He was raised in the New Orleans neighborhood of Hollygrove, and he was a good student but never felt his intelligence was expressed through any kind of report card. For him music was the best way to express himself. He began writing rhymes and at the age of nine, he joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label, and half of the duo, The B.G.'z. In 1997, Lil Wayne joined the group Hot Boys, together with rappers Juvenile, B.G., and Young Turk.
Hot Boys debuted with Get It How U Live! same year. in 1999 with the group's major selling album Guerrilla Warfare, Lil Wayne gained most of his success . As well in 1999, Lil Wayne released his Platinum debut album Tha Block Is Hot, selling over one million copies in the U.S.
His next two albums Lights Out 2000 and 500 Degreez 2002 were not as strong but, eventually they become successful reaching Gold status. Lil Wayne reached The higher popularity in 2004 with Tha Carter. In 2005, the sequel to Tha Carter, was released Tha Carter II. In 2006 and 2007, Lil Wayne released several mixtapes and appeared on several popular rap and R&B singles.
Tha Carter III,His most successful album, was released in 2008 and sold in the U.S. over 1 million copies its first week of release. With the number-one single "Lollipop" included he won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
In the early 2010 he released his first Rock Album "Rebirth". Although primarily negative reception from critics the album eventually went gold. During 2010 after being convicted of criminal possession of a weapon stemming from an incident in July 2007 he was imprisoned for several months in New York . While in prison he released another album named I Am Not a Human Being, featuring Young Money artists such as Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Twist.
Sorry 4 The Wait, a free download that precedes Weezy’s highly anticipated Tha Carter 4 album, finds the formerly voracious rapper in a more subdued place. He expresses his prowess and lavish life with the lyrical wit fans have come to expect,
