One Of The Best Van Gogh's Creation - Sadness Will Last Forever

‘Great Art is not Created Without Great Sorrow’!
Vincent Van Gogh was born in Zundert in the Netherlands, and his father was a protestant minister. The life of Vincent was a cocktail of all types of dismay! He was an thoughtful and sober child. He started a job at the early age of 16, from where he was dismissed on the grounds of shortage of drive. Then he became a teaching assistant for some time in London and after that returned back to his homeland to study theology. He dropped out there also and made his way to an impoverished Belgian place, Borinage, to serve as a layman missionary. From this work he was sacked after 6 months and had to keep on without salary. It was in this time, when he initiated creating charcoal sketches.
During his entire life, he had just one pal and well-wisher, and that was his brother, Theo. It was following Theo’s guidance, that Vincent accepted painting earnestly. He took painting lessons at The Hague from Anton Mauve. Over only a short period of time he got separated from his trainer due to disagreement over views on art, but the emphasis of Hague School was preserved in his artworks, which is proven from the occurrence of loose strokes and light.
He was a failure in love also! His cousin, Kee Vos, was his first love, but she rejected him. Then he joined in matrimony with a prostitute, Sien Hoornik, and welcomed her kids as well, an act which was totally intolerable to his family, including Theo. With her also, Vincent disengaged after some time.
He kept on painting, moving to several spots in the country, when he was impressed by Jean-Francois Millet and painted peasants and village vistas.
Afterwards, when he attended the art academy of Antwerp in Belgium, that also was a unsatisfactory encounter, as his coach fired him after in a brief duration. After that he was inspired by Japanese art and the effect is depicted even in the backgrounds of the portraits made by him.
It was the spring of 1886, when he had started staying with his brother, Theo, in Paris, he got acquainted with numerous accomplished painters. He was influenced by impressionism and the light and color used in the art style. Particularly, pointillism which is categorized by the use of numerous tiny spots to produce rich colors, inspired him the most. It is noteworthy that Van Gogh is considered as post-impressionist, rather than an impressionist.
After a couple of years, he was fed up of the city life and came to Arles, Bouches-du-Rh, France, where he dreamt of founding an art colony. It was at this venue and event, that he beautified a ‘yellow house’ and painted his most celebrated range of sunflower paintings for the purpose. But only Paul Gauguin, followed his invitation. Van Gogh was impressed by Gauguin’s humble color mixes and forms, known as synthetism, and Gauguin also was influenced by Van Gogh. However here also, a quarrel arose between the two, which caused a strong stroke of depression for Van Gogh, during which he cut his own left ear.
It is a vicious joke of life that Vincent Van Gogh could earn money from only one artwork during his entire life and it was The Red Vineyard (currently in Pushkin Museum, Moscow). His mother chucked away plenty of of his paintings during his life as well as after his demise. And today, the painter is taken to be one of the most inspired painters of all times. He spent his whole life in insolvency and now his artworks are the most precious in the world.
On the day of July 27, 1890, at the age of 37, after finishing a work of art, Van Gogh, as a result of a worsened depression, shot himself in the chest. He died after two days, when Theo was beside him. His very last statement was, ‘La tristesse durera toujours’ in French, which means, ‘The sadness will last forever’!
